August 2007 - 5 months old (that's 16.1h Celtica he is nursing off! Wow! Is this colt ever huge for 5 months!!)

2-26-07 Just Born ETICO TFA (Remate II X Celtica DD) - DOB 2-26-07. We LOVE this colt! He is so beautiful and has so much movement. He was temporarily for sale in-utero but once he hit the ground we knew he had to hang on to this colt. He is extra special. I do not think the cross between Remate and Celtica could have turned out better. We have a future champion here. I was already keeping 3 others so you know he HAS to be good otherwise I would not want one more. I love how short coupled and tall he is - and that gorgeous neck and face! He is going to be absolutely stunning when he is grown. I hope he gets the iridescent coat that his mother has.
5-5-08 Etico looks like he is going to reach 16.3-17h without any problems. He is the size of our 2 yr olds. He has a great temperament. Very easy going. He has grown a lot since March. He reminds me the most of Celtica of all her babies to date. I see him turning into a really big, macho version of her. He definitely has Remate's neck. 12-3-07 Etico measured 57.5 inches. Pretty big boy for his age. He is almost as big as his sister that is 12 months older. 4-20-07 What a super temperament this guy has. He loves being petted on and is so calm but still has that flashy show horse presence at the same time. He's quite a big boy at 6 weeks. He has always just hopped right up into the trailer like a Pro even the very first time. He as great conformation, movement and temperament to go with it. I can't wait for him to grow up so I can ride him. His father and mother are both over 16h. I'm 6'4" so this colt will be perfect for me to ride. 8-29-07 Wow! This kiddo is huge! He's not even 6 months old and he looks like a yearling. We had a half brother Amante several years ago by the same sire (Remate) that was 54.5 inches at 6 months old and he grew to be nearly 17h. Etico is 55 inches at 5 months old. We can hardly believe how big this guy is getting to be. I think he will easily top 16.2h. One of the sweetest, calmest foals I have had yet this guy can really move. It just took about a 5 minute halter lesson and he was leading. Just a rope around his butt and he would just go faster and faster so you had to take it off or he would walk, trot and the canter off. It did not take much to get the idea across that you wanted him to follow you. He has such a sweet personality and is very calm and well mannered. I bet he makes a very sensitive mount when he is finally old enough to ride. Normally we wean around 4 months but this year we decided not to. At the rate he is growing - Etico needs all the nutrition he can get. 9-17-07 Well, this weekend we wanted to get new photos and videos so we trimmed and bathed everyone. We decided to buzz both of the boys to get rid of the baby hair. Etico looked just fine with the fuzz but even better with his new hair do. He is such a striking looking colt with a lot of presence even though he is super sweet and takes everything new in stride. He was well behaved when we trimmed his mane and tail for the first time and even seemed to enjoy the clippers. He let me trim his ears even. His full sister Donosa was just as sensible the first time we clipped her - she even fell asleep. Etico looks like a yearling much more than a 6 month old weanling. We're so happy that he has such a great personality!
